The Bank Hotel in Edinburgh occupies the prime location in Edinburgh city centre, situated on the Royal mile and only two minutes walk from Princes Street, all the history and culture of Edinburgh is quite literally on your doorstep. Built in 1923 as a grand Bank, the building was extensively renovated with many original features restored in 1998 to create The Bank Hotel in Edinburgh City Centre, and which was refurbished in February 2008. The Bank Hotel in Edinburgh city centre comprises 9 en-suite bedrooms of a 3 star accommodation standard, each one individually designed to reflect the work and lives of a famous Scots including James Young Simpson, James Watt, Alexander Graham Bell and Charles Rennie Macintosh. Arranged over the three floors and accessed via the original staircase from the hotel bar, all rooms benefit from LCD panel TVs, safes, hairdryers, direct-dial telephones, Tea and Coffee making facilities and added comforts such as CD players, bathrobes and limited room service. In the morning a full Scottish and continental style breakfast selection is served by our helpful staff in the mezzanine level of the Bank Bar, with views onto The Royal Mile. The Bank Bar, timeless in design with glorious wood panelling and a cool relaxed atmosphere, offers a wide range of drinks and an extensive daily food menu. Popular with locals and tourists and having an outdoor seating area on The Royal Mile, The Bank Bar ensures that you absorb the buzz of this historical city and you wont want to leave! With such an excellent location, transport is not necessary, however, Waverley Train Station is only two minutes walk away and Edinburgh Airport can be accessed via the Airlink bus service which runs every 10 minutes from the airport to the city centre.
